Petit Fours
Petit Fours Recipe
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
10 tbsp. butter, divided
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs, beaten
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup flour
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
4 squares semisweet chocolate, melted
5 tbsp. whipping cream
1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.
In small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup corn syrup and 8 tablespoons butter. Bring to boiling on medium heat, stirring constantly. Stir in chocolate chips.
In large bowl, combine granulated sugar, eggs and vanilla extract; mix well. Add chocolate mixture; mix well.
In small bowl, combine flour and pecans; mix well. Stir into sugar mixture.
Spoon into baking dish. Bake 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes.
Transfer to wire rack to cool completely. Cut in 25 squares. Place on wire rack.
In small saucepan, melt remaining butter and 4 squares chocolate. Beat in whipping cream. Add confectioners’ sugar; mix until smooth. Spoon over petit fours.
